It's Coming Down, It's Coming Down

Well coming to Seattle this time of the year usually means that I get a snow free Christmas,
But not this year!
Seattle has gotten 8 inches of snow!!!

Yeah that's right 8! And we are going to be getting more in the next few days. Now When it snows in New York the snow plows come out and clear our roads for us, but in the state of Washington there are only 6 snow plows for the whole state. Needless to say we are snow bound, and taking advantage of the great hills in our neighborhood.

Up Up Up Up Up Up and away

The past year I have flown acrossed the country about 12 times. Flying doesn't bother me, In fact I like a bit of adventure once in awhile. I took off from Albany about 2pm on Tuesday, then got to Baltimore at about 3:30. I really like the Baltimore Airport, its one of my favorites. My plane was going to take off at 4:05pm for Seattle with a stop over in Chicago to let people on and off.
Then everything fell apart!
The captain came on over the loudspeaker and said they weather was really bad in Chicago and that we would be delayed until 5:30.... not dishearten I took a walk and grabbed a steamed milk at Starbucks ( non-fat seamed milk with protein, sugar free vanilla and sugar free carmel, no foam).
When I returned the captain come on to say that the plane was delayed until at lease 8pm. Well I walked over to the Customer service desk to ask if there might be a faster route. The very rude man, said "let me see your ticket". I handed it over, after 5 min of strange faces and typing I had been rerouted to Denver, then to Seattle... Yippy!

Well when we landed into Denver, I was told that the flight I was going to be on had been canceled and that I should fly over to Oakland and wait for the direct flight to Seattle in the morning.
Up up and away to Oakland.. I got into Oakland and realized I had no ticket for the morning flight! To top it off I had no idea if I could even leave the security area of the airport ( what if I'm stuck in Oakland). At 11pm there where no ticket agents.
So I followed the herd out to baggage claim where I waited... and waited until 4:30 in the morning.( Me waiting in the abandoned airport)
Finally the ticket agents showed up and after an explanation they put me on a direct flight to Seattle.. leaving at 6.
As I sat on the plane... waiting, and waiting, the pilot came on the speaker and said that the front wheels where not working and that we needed to deplane and move to another plane... off we all went. So we thought... When we all got on the next plane the captain explained that due to the weather some people are stranded in Sacramento and that we would be taking a 10 min flight over to get them.

We landed in Sacramento, 20 min after we left Oakland, and then waited another 30 min for the guys on the ground to get a plane tow that would work ( theirs died 5 min after we landed).

I do have to say... Its all worth it. seeing My daughter is worth all the sleepless airport nights in the world.

I'm praying for clear weather on the return trip.... Oh and if I would of stayed in Baltimore I would of gotten to Seattle at midnight... not noon the next day.

Jason's section asked me if they could use the cultural hall on Wednesday to play dodge ball, it was the last day of mids. ( yes I asked the Bishop)

Brother Brooks is in Jason section so luckily I wasn't the only member there, It was rather funny since Brother Brooks was on Jason's opposing team the guys felt the Mormon's represented both sides fairly... um.. I didn't correct them, I kinda like the idea of Jason a member.

It was a blast watching these guys.Jason had forgotten his work out pants and since I had planned on doing yoga later in the day I let him borrow my yoga pants... they fit him!Bunch of sailors playing dodge ball, it was so funny. They all tried very hard not to cuss ( surprisingly they did very good , apologizing if they did accidentally slip.) I think we should have a ladies league!

Christmas Dirt

This year Jason got me a new vacuum for Christmas. We got the Dyson Pink from Target. I was so excited to use it for the first time. Our old vacuum died about a month ago.

We don't have alot of carpet in fact its just an area rug in the living room. I have been keeping most of the dirt off by using my broom.
I however was STUNNED to find that in this area rug, I pulled out 4 cups of dirt and dog hair... I almost cried, that my house was that dirty.

I have to say I love my new vacuum, Its awesome. A bit embarrassing to find out how dirty my house actually is.

Butterball

The Thanksgiving tradition in our home goes like this. With out fail the 5 Thanksgiving's Jason and I have been together someone has invited us over to their home to celebrate with them. And so because we never have any left overs for my husband to have, he insists that we make a turkey for the Sunday after Thanksgiving so that he can watch Sunday football and eat himself sick.
I've been working on the RS Christmas program today, and I knew I would not be home early to start the bird, so I called Jason and told him I needed him to start the turkey. I told him, place the bird on her belly and put 2 sticks of butter inside, and mash another stick on the outside, salt it a bit.

When I walked in the door about 2 hours later, my loving spouse came up to me and asked me, "you wanted me to put 2 pounds of butter in the inside of the bird???" Thinking he was joking I asked him to explain... and he responded " well i got 6 sticks of butter inside, I couldn't get all 8, and 6 on the outside, I couldn't get in all 4 pounds.
Well needless to say, That's one very fattening bird should I put butter in the mashed potatoes???

P.S. This is also mormon cookie night, and since I had dough already made in the refrigerator, I pre heated the oven and set the dough out so that it would get to room temp. ..... after 25 min in the oven, my cookies looked really runny... turns out Jason turned off the oven on me.
I know who is doing dishes tonight!

Little Reels of Tape

Ten little sisters standing in a line.

One disliked the president, then there were nine.

Nine ambitious sisters offered to work late.

One forgot her promise, then there were eight.

Eight creative sisters had ideas as good as heaven.

One lost enthusiasm, then there were seven.

Seven loyal sisters got into a fix.

They quarreled over programs, then there were six.

Six sisters remained with spirit & drive.

One moved away, then there were five.

Five steadfast sisters wished there were more.

One became indifferent, then there were four.

Four cheerful sisters who never disagree-

Till one complained of meetings, then there were three.

Three eager sisters! What do they do?

One got discouraged, then there were two.

Two lonely sisters our rhyme is nearly done,

One joined the bridge club, then there was one.

One faithful sister was feeling rather blue.

Met with a neighbor, then there were two.

Two earnest sisters each enrolled one more.

Doubling their numbers, then there were four.

Four determined sisters just couldn't wait,

Till each one another, then there were eight!

Eight excited sister signed up eight more.
In another six verses, there'll be a thousand twenty-four!

So the Enrichment Councilor and I are the only ones that come to Enrichment anymore, (and neither of us knows how to play bridge) Not sure where we are going wrong.

One of my good friends is stumbling a bit and its heart breaking to watch her feel as if she is unloved, and doesn't want to come to church.

Just venting frustration.
I'm sure everything will work out.
