Here, Bullet

This a very short book of poems. It is wonderfully written of this man's experiences while he served in the Iraq war. I'm not a huge poetry reader. Most of it bores me to pieces. But this book gives such emotion to a war that is so hard for most of us to grasp. I might be a bit graphic for some, but ah this is war after all.
One of my favorite poems :

THE BAGHDAD ZOO
Is the world safer?
No. It's not safer in Iraq. --Hans Blix

An Iraqi northern brown bear mauled a man

on a streetcorner, dragging him down an alley

as shocked onlookers shouted and threw stones.

There were tanks rolling their heavy tracks

past the museum and up to the Ministry of Oil.

One gunner watched a lion chase down a horse.

Eaten down to their skeletons, the giraffes

looked prehistoric, unreal, their necks

too fragile, too graceful for the 21st Century.

Dalmatian pelicans and marbled teals

flew over, frightened by the rotorwash

of blackhawk helicopters touching down.

One baboon even escaped from the city limits.

It was found wandering in the desert, confused

by the wind and the sand of the barchan dunes.

It's very sad, but it really gives you a sense of the chaotic lives our soldiers are facing daily.

Since we have met I have decorated his truck while he is at work, to celebrate his birthday.
Here is this years creation:

That's love.

( While I was act of decoration, his coworkers told me that they where under instruction to put a stop to my art. But I told them if they wanted anymore cookies they would let me have my fun. )

Shampoo Debate

I believe without a doubt shampoo and conditioner are one of those things that you get what you pay for. However I'm wondering if it's just a state of mind. If I think the more expensive shampoo will make me look better, of course I will. I try using the cheaper brands, and the texture just isn't the same. I love my shampoo and conditioner. It's $15 a bottle and every time I pay for a new bottle I have the Shampoo Debate. I do have to say years ago when the dollar store was my Macy's, I found a shampoo that I loved ( for a dollar a bottle). What do you use, and do you agree?

Good thing I still do my own hair :)

New Computer

So after many years of a SSSLLLOOOOWWWW computer, we finally bought a brand new one. I can not believe how fast this thing is. I can actually get to a page without the seasons changing outside. So now I really have no excuse why I don't get work done, or emails sent. However I have to say I'm not a huge fan of Vista. It has a learning curve to it. Over all I'm a happy girl.

My Philosophy of Housecleaning

I don't do windows because ... I love birds and don't want one to run into a clean window and get hurt.

I don't wax floors because ... I am terrified a guest will slip and get hurt then I'll feel terrible( plus they may sue me.)
I don't mind the dust bunnies because ... They are very good company, I have named most of them, and they agree with everything I say.I don't disturb cobwebs because . I want every creature to have a home of their own.

I dont do spring cleaning because I like all of the seasons and don't want the others to get jealous I don't pull weeds in the garden because .. I don't want to get in God's way, HE is an excellent designer! I don't put things away because . My husband will never be able to find them again.
I don't do gourmet meals when I entertain because . I don't want my guests to stress out over what to make when they invite me over for dinner. I don't iron because ... I choose to believe them when they say "Permanent Press". I don't stress much on anything because ... "A Type" personalities die young and I want to stick around and become a wrinkled up crusty ol' woman!!!! REMEMBER . . . .
