Windchimes

One of the most beautiful spots in the city was St. Patrick's Cathedral. The smell of the burning candles really set the mood.
The stained glass windows where donated by King Louis Philippe of France. I think that was by far the best part of the cathedral.
Meri, had pointed out to me what looked like wind chimes on the ceiling. Perplexed about it she found an usher and inquired about them.

It turns out they where not wind chimes, they are four cardinals' galeros. ( caps) with their hair dangling like a chime. Talk about creepy. I don't know why they have this tradition. But I'm sure glad we don't do that.

What great pictures! I agree with you about that particular tradition; it is one I don't wish to carry on...
Missed you today.

Beautiful church! Would love to see it for myself someday. What other things were you able to see? Did you go to the World Trade Center memorial?

Cathedrals are so interesting. But the hair thing...very creepy. Admittedly I was disappointed when I was in France a couple of summers ago and the catacombs (and crytps)with preserved bodies in this really old city were closed that day.

Hey there cute lady! Like the Cathedral post, can I like mine to yours?

How are things going? I hope you're feeling well.

Sorry you've not heard from me lately. For some silly reason I thought I'd have MORE time once M got out of school for the summer--ha! Not so much, just the opposite actually.

Well, one of these days...don't fall out of your chair when you I finally get to call you k? : )
